This is a numbered edition piece, this being number 11.
Red dot on base indicating seconds quality.
All the usual Moorcroft markings on the base as shown and it has no chips, cracks or restoration obtained after leaving factory.
Moorcroft pottery is completely hand-made and hand-painted in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England and as such no two pieces are ever the same. They have very high quality standards and grade all their pieces into one of three categories – Best/First, Graded or Seconds. Their Best/First quality pieces have no discernible flaw. Graded pieces have such a slight imperfection that it is not felt significant enough to downgrade it to Seconds and as such the base is marked with a Gr. Seconds are signified by either a silver line or a red dot on the base.
