Lovely pin dish or squat bowl in the Eventide design by William Moorcroft. Unusual colourway as Eventide usually has a green tree. This has a purple tree and could perhaps be an example of flambe glaze. I shall let you make your own mind up.

It has an impressed Moorcroft marking on the base as shown.

No chips or cracks. Item was previously sold and returned but no reason given why it was returned. We cannot detect any restoration. Even after googling how to detect restoration and following all the tips (using teeth to feel any soft areas and examining under black light) nothing shows up.

Moorcroft pottery is completely hand-made and hand-painted in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England and as such no two pieces are ever exactly the same. They have very high quality standards and grade all their pieces into First/Best quality and Graded/Seconds. Those of Graded/Seconds are still of a high quality but will have some minor (often almost undetectable) flaw such as a small piece of tube-lining missing or a bubble in the glaze. Please note we do not attempt to describe any blemish that happened during the production process – we only comment on those that have occurred since production. We publish several images of the actual item listed so you can satisfy yourselves of the quality before purchasing.
